Consider design decisions alongside production requirements.
01 Finalise the content
Create a current source for product names, technical details, prices and contact information. Identify the person responsible for approval.
02 Choose the format early
Size, page count, folds and binding affect the layout. Confirm these with your printer before design begins.
03 Check the images
Use original images with enough resolution for their printed size. Small web images may not work on large printed surfaces.
04 Follow production specifications
Ask the printer for bleed, safe areas, colour profiles, PDF standards and font requirements. Specifications vary by supplier.
05 Review proofs and approve
Check page order, fold direction and content in the final PDF. Discuss a production proof when accurate colour is critical.
